La Porta Luxury Rooms - Split

We loved the design of the room itself, the bathroom and the view from the window. The staff were very friendly and helpful, even though we arrived at 10.30 P.M. They were outside looking for us. The breakfasts at the nearbye hotel were excellent and the staff there friendly. The location could not have been better.

There were 78 stairs up to the floor with the rooms. Although we knew they were on the 3rd floor of a building, we had not bargained for that! Fortunately my husband is a sprightly 70. The stairs would have been more of a problem had we visited in a summer heat wave.

If you remember that you are renting a room, not a Hotel (I didn’t realize that when I book it) is a great deal: - Best location to stay in Split! - Small, but confortable and the ladies managers are very attention and sweet. - Good internet speed.

As I said before, you got to remember this is not a hotel, it's only a room so: - No reception - No hotels facility at all. - No parking near (the parking they offer is bit far way). - And the worst part - 3 long floors with a lot of steps to go up and down. However the location is so good that if you do not bother with things above, is a great deal!

We stayed for 3 nights and the staff were very friendly and very accommodating. The place could not have been in a better location!

Quiet, spacious - great for a few days.

It's on the 3rd floor, but we knew that before we arrived and they carried our bags up and down for us.

Location is excellent. Just across a cobbled street to the Palace and 1 minute walk to the harbour/front in Split. Rooms are finished to a very high standard. Staff are extremely helpful, giving good advise as to what to see and do and even picking us up from the airport and allowing us to store luggage once we had checked out. Very much enjoyed our stay and everything the city has to offer. Will be recommending to friends. It is a bit of a climb as it is on the 3rd floor of a building but was not an issue for us and they have someone to take your luggage up to your room and down again when you leave.

Welcome friendly and informative; maps and information about local restaurants provided. Porter provided on arrival and departure: very useful, given the number of steps.

Room a little cramped, due to raised floor areas and size of bed relative to total floor space.

Friendly, helpful welcome. Excellent facilities in room. Near to main attractions, train station and seafront 3 minutes walk away. Our room was the smallest of the rooms, but was fine for one night. Saw inside other rooms all bigger and some had amazing views over harbour, would request these if staying longer. Breakfast was served in a hotel 1 minute walk away. Excellent food.

Would not be suitable for people who struggle to use stairs. La Porta is at the top of seven flights of stairs and as it is in an old building does not have a lift.

This was an absolutely wonderful place to stay. It was a short 3 minute walk from the main train station and the seaport. The hotel itself was a delight as was the owner. The included breakfast was at a delightful cafe about 30 meters from the from door of the hotel with a wonderful staff and an excellecent selection on the breakfast menu. Not only would I reccomend this hotel to friends but, have every intention of returning in the near future.

Best location in Split, friendly and helpful welcome. Quality fittings and furniture, very clean and well looked after. Sanja helped with transport arrangements etc.

Our room was small, the bigger ones were booked out.

The owners were excellent with me and so helpful...........the breakfast included was delicious and so much and the restaurant was also wonderful and went out of their way to make sure I was happy......................I Would go back there anytime ...

More lights in the hallways walking upstairs.......everything else was excellent

Location Central. Rooms excellent. Shower king size. Althou breakfast at hotel across the road in nice court yard. Friendly service.

They were modern, clean and updated. Mostly though the shower was excellent!

This was not a problem for me, but others might have a problem with the walk up situation.

Fabulous location, newly refurbished.

Paying in cash can be a headache if you are not told beforehand.

Very good location close to the old town, sea, bus station, restaurants. Room was modern and beautifully renovated. Sanja and Tina are just great and helpful, felt like friends! Breakfast was a nice extra. Highly recommend.

Very good customer service, good advice from the manager about things to see, where to eat, etc... Room clean, recently renovated I guess, modern and trendy.

A light moisture smell in the room (butnot unsual in most hotels in Croatia... I don'T know why), but don't worry too much about that. Noise from the corridor, insonorisation should be improved. But no noise from the outside.
